Angel Tree

Parishioners select the names of children provided by social service agencies, and purchase gifts from their Christmas wish lists. All gifts are presented anonymously to the children and their parents/guardians.

Annual Christmas Party & Dinner

Trinity hosts an annual Christmas Party and Dinner for people experiencing homelessness, especially those living with HIV and AIDS. Trinity members provide musical entertainment and poetry reading. Each guest receives a small gift and is served a full course meal.

Bed & Breakfast To Go

Members of Trinity donate sleeping bags. Parishioners of all ages including youth and children gather at the church to cook and package hot breakfasts. These meals are delivered along with the sleeping bags to people experiencing homelessness who are living on the street.

Care Knapsack for People Experiencing Homelessness

Parishioners donate items such as socks, hand towels, washcloths, toothpaste and toothbrushes, personal care items, bottled water, and non-perishable food. The items are put into a knapsack and given to people experiencing homelessness whom they meet on the streets during their daily travels through the city.

Foster Care Ministry

Trinity has received a Congregational Grant from EDOW for a Foster Care Ministry. Parishioners will work with youth aging out of foster care to provide mentorship and support as they navigate the transition to adulthood. In some cases, transitional housing may also be provided.

Transition & Temporary Housing

The working poor in Washington, DC are another group of people experiencing homelessness for whom Trinity provides housing. During the year, Trinity provides transitional and temporary housing for about four persons for up to three months at a time. The working poor are provided with housing that consists of one room and a shared bath and kitchen.

Trinity Church continues to provide these services and others to women, children and men in need in the District of Columbia throughout the year. We invite your support of, and your suggestions for, expanding our efforts.
